Carnivals in Nice are one of the biggest and oldest in the world. Every year French Riviera welcomes guests attending Carnivals. Traditions of celebrating started years ago. Every year in February – March Nice city turns into a parade marathon lasting for two weeks. For the first time Carnival in Nice was arranged in 1294.
You will see the other side of Nice during Carnival celebrations: Massen square for example turns into a huge stadium with beautiful lights in the evening. The houses surrounding the square are decorated with street paintings, prepared by 120 artists and always with witty decorations.
